96 Ranger ignition cuts out CEL flashes

96 ranger XTL 2.3 ltr.. 69,000 miles Ignition shuts down for a second or two while driving. Check enging light flashes on. This appears to be random but generally while the vehicle is warming up. Only happens while driving not while idling.
Any ideas..
