Windshield pillar trim

I am in the process of installing an audio equalizer in the overhead storage bin/console of my 2000 Silverado. In order to do this I had to remove the contents of the EQ from its case and do some serious modifications to the console. Once I am done I will post pictures.
My question is how do the windshield pillar trim moldings come off? I have to run the RCA cables and power wires down to the dash. Has anyone removed these before? Do the trim pieces pull off or is there a trim tool required?

They will just pop off. No tool is required. I had to remove these to run my wires for my tv. they are held by one clip toward the top. My only word of advice is to not pull them off too many times. The more you pull them off, the more worn out the plastic piece gets that goes into the clip. But a few times is ok.
