92 caravan se awd v6 - tranny problem

hi. i just got a 92 caravan with 152,000 miles on it. i've been driving it around for about 200 miles. all of the sudden this morning the tranny started having problems.

first off, when i pulled away from my house (i live in a cul de sac so i have to do a u-turn) it went forward for about 50 ft, then the tranny disengaged. i let the engine idle back down and about 5 seconds later it re-engaged and i was off.

i usually drive in 'd3' until i get on the freeway and i noticed that it wasn't upshifting into 3rd. (it was revving about 4,000rpm at 38-40 mph.)

once i got on the freeway, i put it in 'd' and it just stayed in 2nd the whole time and never upshifted. i was revving about 4,800rpm at 60mph.

any ideas?!? tia!

I beleive that situation is called "limp home" mode..
when the computer detecs a problem it doesnt let the tranny shift up from 2nd..

get the tranny scanned for codes..
