strange vibration, someone help me!

a few weeks ago i'm driving my 1990 jetta down the highway and it starts making this strange rubbing noise from the drivers side front. i think, hey no problem! i'll throw a new wheel bearing in, no biggie. so since then i've replaced- the wheel bearing, whole shaft(both cv joints), and last night i swapped transmissions thinking it was the differential bearing. the only thing left is the ball joint but that would make a rubbing sound. someone please help!!!
thanks a lot
jodie

i rotated the tires. brake pads are brand new and the rotors have no funky spots in them. maybe the caliper?

check on the splash guard around disk, may be rubbing somewhere.otherwise check pads are located correctly, and shims/springs not out of alignment.

Lift the front end off the ground, chalk the rear tires, put the car in neutral and spin the tires. Thats what I did with my fox and found the rotors were rubbing against the splash shields. It also may be the rotors may not have any weird spots on them but they may be slightly warped. Swap the rotors check to see if the noise went with the rotor to the other side.
