Clutch Problem

Well I had my car in storage for the past week. I went out to start it and it started fine, but the clucth felt like there was nothing there and kept sticking. I checked the fluid resovoir and it was empty  . I am assuming (was too cold to check, 4º F outside) it is either the clutch master or slave cylinder. My question is that if it is one or the other, could I fill the resovoir with fluid and drive it to my friends lift or is it stuck where its at and I have to fix it where she lays?

Is this common for these to just go w/o warning?? Any special fluid I should use? Thanks in advance

if you have no pressure and your fluids gone it probably means you have a fluid leak. If you fill it and see that it is a slow leak then go for it, but If i were you i wouldnt risk it because if you loose pressure while driving that would suck. but you can drive it without the clutch as long as you dont stop on the way there.

if you fill it up, it is a must to first bleed the slave cylinder.... or you will be having all kinds of problems trying to get there.... my car has a slow leak and i ran it too low one day and i had to put fluid in there and it didnt work... i was pissed i thought my clutch was broke (agian) then i bleed it and it worked fine... i have just been filling mine up every couple of days... i will get it fix when i get the time.... oh yeah on what to use... try a synthetic brake fuild (i had prestone). hope that helps
