Mitsubishi Eclipse 96 Rear 6"x9" Speaker Brackets

Hello. I'm totally new here, and I'm trying my luck here to see if I could seek any help.

First of all, I own a Mitsubishi Eclipse RS 96'. I've replaced the stock head unit with Kenwood KDC-MP222 MP3 CD Player. And now, I've bought all the speakers to fit on my car, the front two speakers are actually 6.5", and I got the correct one.

The problem is, when I looked at the specifications listed for my car, the rear speakers are supposed to be 6x9 speakers, so I went ahead and bought a set of 6"x9" Kenwood KFC-6989ie speakers. I was about to install it two days ago, I tore the seat panels and everything apart, and found out that it actually has a 6"x9" plastic bracket, but, being fitted with a 6.5" speaker, which is weird as I thought it'd be a 6"x9" speaker bracket. The problem now is, my Kenwood KFC-6989ie will not fit on it. My question is, is there any where online that any of you all know that I could get a set of speaker brackets for 6"x9" for my rear speakers? I tried Google search, for almost every possible way I could think of but couldn't get any results on it, I've done my best, I really need help on this matter. And if it's impossible for me to get those brackets, is there any way to get those speakers fitted? I know I could modify my original bracket, could anyone guide me through it if they have experience with it?

I really need help with this as soon as possible as my speakers are seating by the corner waiting to be fitted in my car.

Help would definitely be well appreciated.

Thanks.

Regards,
Wilson

well what you want to do is find a 6x9 metal bracket that would fit in there it shouldn't be that hard to find one just go to a junk yard and get some. then pull all of the old brackets out. then you need some on that can weld. have them weld them in place. and hook everything up and there you go if you have any problems hit me up

You see, I'm from Ames, Iowa. A rural area. I went down to two of the junk yard that I know of around here, and they don't have any of my car there, therefore I can't get the parts that I need. I've really done all that I could think of, but still can't come out with a success. :(

About that welding thing, how much would welding cost? I'd prefer to have one customized 6x9 bracket fitted in the original position than to have to weld it. Let me know what I can do.

Thanks.

check this site out: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-pC7jHcQ5Wzk/cgi-bin/autoinfo/autoinfo.asp?lp= i always check them out for sizing stuff. they seem to think that you got 6.5's too. you may just have to get them, or weld the correct fitting in there

Oh okay, if I get that bracket from an older generation eclipse, is there other ways to install it than to weld it? Because I don't have the tools to weld it, even if I had it, I don't really know how to handle it I suppose, as I've not used any of them before.

Okay I've just found out, there's two batch of speakers that comes with those 95-99 Eclipses, ones with an Infinity systems and the other one is the regular one. The one that comes with Infinity systems actually as the 6x9 brackets. Is there anywhere that I could get these 6x9 brackets?

Either the dealer or the junkyard. Obviously you need the brackets out of a car with the infiniti system in it. ;) I've never replaced my rear speaksers, but it sounds logical to me.

I've tried looking at my junk yard around here but can't find any. Anyone able to help me look for one and ship it to me? I'll pay you through PayPal and pay all the fees incurred. I really need help.

Then go to the dealer. Unless I'm mistaken I mentioned that as well. Conecelli is good and will ship anything. www.partznet.com is thier website. Drive it on ;)
