Will Mitsu bring the US a Lancer to do battle against Subaru US version Turbo AWD?

I don't think it will happen right away, but I do feel it will happen, I'm pretty sure actually. Subaru has hinted towards bringing in the STi version of the WRX if interest in the current '02 WRX is strong enough, and I feel it will be.

If it does come here, I hope mitsu doesnt castrate it like suburu has the wrx. We always get shafted here. The us wrx is nothing compared to the real thing. 227 hp?!? That's the best subaru can do?

hi, the real thing in japan is actually a STI (subaru technica international) ie. 206 kw or 276 hp
the wrx in jp is about the same as you will get, ie. about 160kw. only the sti has 206kw.

I heard that in 2003 it will be here ...And it will be fast as ball and im pretty sure it will smack the WRX . If its going to be the way it was in japan it will be turbocharged and allwheel drive ....280hp doesnt that just spell kickass

You can get a new EVO 7 here for 75k I would have the
EVO over the WRX.

Mitsubishi's bringing the Lancer/Impreza rivalry to the US and will raise the performance bar simultaneously. Subaru will probably have to bring the 276hp STi version here as well just to keep up.

And then there's Mitsubishi's Ralliart tuned versions of the Evo. I can't wait to see the tuned Evo VIIs. The Ralliart Evo VI had a UK version called the Extreme, and it pumped out 340hp and could hit 60mph in 4 secs flat. Very nice.:)

the mitsubishi of america is tryin hard to bring it.. they wanted to see if the crowds at the new york auto show praise for it and if its good they might think for it.. and i heard ralliart and mitsubishi wants america to be involve with the rally races so ralliart is going to bring it over too

That is only a possibility! The Evo VII could stay as the Latest edition for a while, and if it is, they better make some Variations VERY SOON.

The trend for Evo's is a newer model every 1-2 years..its basically a way to sell the Evo, think about it... for e.g. someone owns an Evo V...mitsubishi knows this and possibly sends them a Evo VI brochure...saying "heres the New EVO VI, you'll want one" so later that year they get an Evo VI..
