I had a Flowmaster 50 series put into my 92 z24. It does not sound like a rice bucket, it sounds like a real car is suppost to sound. But if i were to buy a new muffler, i would but the Flowmaster 40 series, that is a bit louder than the 50.

I wouldnt change the cat, cuz the car is new, just put a new muffler to get the real sound out of the car
