Hey guys Im pretty new to the supra world :) well anyways, my friend has this 1988 Supra N/A for sale. It has 140,000 miles on it, but its in pretty good condition other then the faded paint on it and a crack rear lamp... But the car runs nice. He wants to sell it to me for $650.00.. Now I was wondering is this a good price for the car... And is 140k miles a lot on that car it’s an automatic. But would it be a good enough car for an every day drive just to get from point a to point B. And at that many miles what should I watch for like faults or anything. And if its not too much trouble what would the specs be on that.. I already searched google.com and got some hits.. But I’m trying to get some responses from owners. Thank you

Eww an automatic, haha j/k there alight I guess. N/A's are the best Supras you can buy if all you care about is going from A to B, in comfort/style too. Plus later you could always do a turbo swap and a manual trans swap, and trust me if you keep the car long enough you will want to do a turbo swap :iceslolan . $650 sounds like a really good price fairly straight.
For BHG information check here...

For Rod knock, just rev and hold the engine at 2500 or so, if you hear a knocking sound coming from the bottom half of the engine, just don't get it mixed up with valve tick, a light ticking from the camshaft hitting the shims which you'd hear at all RPM's, that shouldn't cause a problem. What kind of specs are you looking for? About 200hp, car is 3600lbs, O-60 is slow, 1/4 mile is slow, top speed is slow, but it's still quick and comfortable, especially on the highway. N/A's don't get BHG nearly as much as stock turbo MK3's but it still can be a problem. By the way is it a targa, that'd definetly be a plus especially if you live down south where its nice and warm.
EDIT: Oh yea almost forgot, deifnelty read the new owner/tips write up from SOGI, good stuff.

Run the VIN through Carfax.com should give you some info. While your there get a vehicle report amy save you money. I have a 88 Turbo I bought for $700 and dropped $1200 to rebuild tranny and about $1500 in replacement hoses belts and performance parts and the car hauls ass was a stock 230hp (yours is about 200hp)now its about 320hp.
