changing O2 sensor on 97 S-10 Blazer

So I've grown a little tired of seeing my "service engine soon" light on every day for the past year, and it's supposed on because I have a bad O2 sensor. I want to change the bad sensor (apparently there are 4 are this engine and this is the 2nd one in the sequence). Oh, I have a 4.3. Vortec V-6. I've been told that I need some special tool to remove/change the sensor. I'm wanting to know 1) do I really need to buy/rent this removal tool, and if so, what is it? 2) Where exactly are the O2 sensors located? 3) What is the procedure for chaning them?

yes you do need the special tool, it has an opening for the wire that attaches to the O2 sensor...the O2 sensors are located in the exhaust system, usually one before the converter and one after the converter, if it does have four then i think it's two before, two after. Either way you will want to have a mechanice hook up his scanner to your diagnostic plug and he will be able to tell you exactly which sensor needs to be changed. Hope that helped.

Well "pal", I'm only telling you what a mechanic told me, which is that my Blazer has four O2 sensors. Maybe he's wrong.... Also what's up with the "canuck" comment?
