Problem with my S-10

Okay I have a 94 S-10 with the itty bitty 4cyl. Only 78k and I have a problem I just can't seem to solve...
Recently my power was acting strangely and it seemed that the alternator was going...
Solution: Replace alternator
I did that on Friday, now the truck will not start. Coming home last night it was tough to start and when I turned the truck off I lost all power...
Battery right? No, had the battery checked and it is fine. I haven't been home again today to throw the battery in and see what happens but assuming I still have no power and the terminals/cables look fine what might the problem be?

Thanks for any input...

Re: Problem with my S-10

there is likely a fuseable link in the system somewhere, unfortunatly i don't know anything about the newer S-10's, they changed that year to the new motors and body styles (or was that the blazer?) either way the link would cause no power, and as far as you lack of power issue when it is running, i would have to say something is acting up in the altenator (i know you replaced it), unless there is something dragging the engine down and therefore your power output....hhmmm....let me see if i can find something else out....got an idea....i'll keep you posted. (no pun intended)

Okay I put the battery in during lunch...
Truck started right up...
So I guess the new alternator isn't working properly...
Unless someone thinks it might be something else...

5speed manual
I don't know exactly the gas mileage...I just fill it once a week, seem to get pretty good mileage.

Re: Problem with my S-10

well i'm glad you found the problem....although before you go to far, make sure the connections are clean and tight, you would hate to bring it back and say it's defective and then be told your wrong! take it easy.

Re: Problem with my S-10

Sounds like your old alternator was fine. Once you got the new battery your problem was solved. Batterys today can make a car act funny. I had a 94 K1500 Blazer and on my way to work the lights were flickering the gauges were pegged and my stereo was acting crazy. After I shut it off it wouldnt start again. I figured Voltage regulator. Before I did anything I checked the battery. After changing battery I had no problem.

If you traded in your old alternator for the core charge did they check it?

Possible that battery and alternator were going bad.
