I am new to the Forum,but I have 98 Aurora and the battery voltage reads 10.5 and when running the Dic reads 14.9 and sometimes the car just does not start,do you think it needs a New Battery?Please help

Could need a battery I just checked mine it was 12 volts engine off,headlights on. started it, went to 15.5 volts. You might want to get the alternator, battery and starter draw test.

Certainly sounds like it. Search for battery on the forum- getting one for a reasonable price can be an adventure. No one but Delco seems to make one that fits.

If you have let your car run (at least 15 minutes) or driven around for a bit and you still show 10.5 volts, you will very likely need a new battery. The 14.9 volts is the voltage your alternator is putting out and is within accepted norms. You can drive to AutoZone and thhey can test both battery and alternator for you for free.

Okay, 10.5/14.9. The battery is shot, the alternator is fine. The thread should pretty much stop.
