Pollen filter

I have a 99 four cylinder Passat. Can anyone give me instructions on how to change the Pollen Filter? Where is it located under the hood and can a novice change it? Thanks.

Re: Pollen filter

I have a '95 VR6. The filter on my car is under a plastic cover above the firewall on the passenger side (just below and in fornt of the right hand wiper). You have to turn some plastic fastners to remove the cover and then it should lift out. The filter is below this. It should just pull out. Be sure to seat the seal of your new filter in properly as I have heard of these leaking. Also replace the cover above the firewall properly for the same reason. It should'nt be too difficult for a novice. Mike.
