minor? electrical issues...

I have a 92' s-10 blazer w/vortec. the electronic gauges only come on once in a while (speedo and odometer still work) and the brake lights stay on when my foot is off of the break pedal. (flakey switch?) ne1 have some suggestions for me?

i would start by checking the connection at the back of the gauges, might have loosened and when you hit a bump in the road they could start working that way....and as far as the switch goes, it has an adjustment nut on it, if you have a look at it you will see what i'm talking about, just loosen the nut and move the switch further back and then tighten the nut again....this will also affect you lock up torque converter, it will not lock up with the brake pedal pressed down. Now having said all that...if you torque converter DOES lock up and you lights are staying on then i would say it's a faulty switch, the switch preforms both functions. Hope that helped.
