96 aurora steers hard when turning left. p/s fluid level OK. No noise from the pump either. Has anyone encountered this problem? Thanks in advance. Grayl in Phx
1. Wheel alignment.
2. Binding tie rod end.
3. Binding ball joint.
4. Bad flow control valve in R&P assembly.
5. Some other internal problem in the R&P.
Thats a tough, one my neighbor came to me one day asking advice he had the same problem on his Buick Century. Hard turning one direction. But when he revved it up a little it would steer normally. It turned out to be the rack. Then again I've seen pumps doing weird things also. If it were mine I'd start with the rack.
I thought I read here somewhere about a TSB on the PS pump lines not letting enough pressure thru. I think there is a kit for this problem and something about reversing the lines.
Might be worth looking into.
I thought that was for noisy lines jj. I could be wrong . I recently experienced the noisy lines on a GM product and ordered the lines on the TSB and they were a real treat to install rerouting, looping ect.... but it worked !
