Hi, This is my first post here, and it's not even for me!

My friend has a '98 Neon r/t with a manual transmission.

Lately he has been having problems where he will try to start his car and it won't. The lights and all interior power work, and the engine tries to turn over, but it won't start. he waits about ten minutes and tries it again, it starts up with out a problem.

Today a new layer was added when the car just shut off as he was driving at 65 mph. he pulled over to the side of the road and tried to start it and nothing happened, he waited the ten minutes or so and it started up.

What could be the problem?

Any help would be appreciated!

Yeah my car is doing that to. I thought it was my fuel pump but i took off the pressure release valve and tryed to turn it over and it had plenty of fuel. It was a loose wire I think but it was like sputtering and stuff like i would be hitting the gas and it would not have any power and would stall. but it could be the fuel filter, fuel pump, or a loose wire.

I have a 98 neon that did the same thing. I took it to the shop and they said it was a bad crankshaft senser. they fixxed it and it worked good for a few weeks then it started doing the same thing so i took it back in and they had it for a week and this time it was one of my wireing harnesess was worn through, they replaced that and its been running great. knock on wood.......
