Help lifting a Jimmy 4x4 front

I need the best yet cheapest way to lift a Jimmy/Blazer 4x4 front end 2 inches. 2.5 if possible. I have only had experience with solid front axles until this truck.

Re: Help lifting a Jimmy 4x4 front

take and crank up the torsion bars, there is a bolt that goes into a cam on the end of the torsion bar, if you crank it in, it will lift it. The bolt is located in the crossmember that the torsion bar rests in. But be forwarned that if you do that it will change your camber adjustment and you will badly need an alignment, the tires will look like this \-/ when your done. The only other way is to buy a lift kit for it, it gives you different spindles and a dropped crossmember. Not really worth it. Hope that helped, and if you look in the picture below you will see the 2" of lift i got out of it, i still have probly 1" or so of lift left in the bolts.

lifted s10

topdog: did you try the suggestion?: crank in the torsion bar, then get an alignment? I'd like to try to get 2" on the front of my '98 S10 4x4. Wondered if it worked.
