Need Help: Air bag light comes on when car is off

Ok guys,

Here's what's going on.

I have a 1999 Chevy Prizm. I got the car not so long ago, the air bag light comes on after the car is shut off. But it takes about 1min after the car is shut down before the light comes on. I was out of town for a week and when i came back, the car wouldn't start. I got a jump and took it to get the battery tested, said the battery was bad so i got a new one.

I just did that today. I wanted to know if anyone out there know what is causing the air bag light to stay on after the car is off.

When i start the car, the light goes off.

thanks all,

-D

Check for stored codes. If the codes are for high resistance detected by the Sensing & Diagnostic Module (SDM) for the side air bags and/or the pretensioners, install a new floor wiring harness. To install the new floor wiring harness will require removal of the seats, console, carpet, body control module and various interior moldings/trim
