mine is an 88 safari. the bottom roller is enclosed completely by the door. it doesn't leak at all, but a little water has accumulated in the very back because i leave the door open a little when it is raining sometimes when getting tools out. what i would do is first find out where the water is coming from. i would check the gasket all the way around the door to see if it is broken, or missing a piece, and replace. then i would check the box that the slider is in to see if it had any holes in it, then seal with RTV Silicone sealant. do you live in a snowy area? if you live in an area where they salt the roads all the time, it could be a hole in the box. the area where I live, Sacramento, CA, has extremes in hot and cold, and my gaskets seem to hold out fine. does the roller roll in the bottom? if not, spray it with some tri-flo lubricant with teflon, it displaces water and lasts way longer than silicone lubricant. you would have to get under the van to check the box that has the roller in it.
