'97 2.2; 4.3 swap a possibility? (tranny related)

I used to own an '93 Isuzu Pup, and the 2.6 transfer case was the same as some Chevy V8's. So theoredically if you changed the motor mounts, then a 350 would bolt right in. I have a '97 Hombre, 2.2. Will the 4.3 bolt up to that 5spd transmission? The motor mounts aren't an issue, I can get that done.

Please don't bother telling my how much better a 350 would be. I already know...

A 350 would be so much better j/k. Anyways the 2.2 won't bolt up to the 4.3 tranny or vise versa. The transfer cases are the same normally but you have to worry about the tranny not the transfer case. A 4.3 is basically a small block chevy motor short of 2 cylinders, therefore you will need a different tranny. hope that helped.

ok. How hard is it to find a hydro 5spd that will bolt up to a 4.3? I imagine that I am going to have to move my crossmembers, and probably get the s10 4.3 driveshaft.
