sound from the rear end

for a while now ive been noticing a weird clunk coming from my rear . it does it when im breaking while backing up. it doesn't do it all the time and it nevers does when im going forward. i already changed the sway bar bushings. any guess on what it could be

I am also having a clunk and I've been trying to figure it out I also have a whining noise constantly, but I have a 94 two door with 220k on it, and the rear is a trac-lok and I know the bearings are shot on the outside, maybe that's the same problem you are having. But Does anyone know if the whining is the diff bearings? or the clutches?
