85 2.8 tranny swap 5 speed to auto

I would like to know if there is a automatic tranny that would bolt up to the 2.8 with out to much of a hassle? If so what tranny?

Thanks
Happy Jack

a 2.8 bell//700r4 will interchange without a lot a bs
you will need a flexplate and to run a oil cooler ///install the throttle
valve cable to the carb// then a automatic steering shift column or something to shift the damn thing last// nuteral-safety switch rigged
to start the thing

I myself think you will be dissapointed going from a stick to auto with a 2.8.

Since you already have an ugly spot on the floor board just get a floor shifter. Make sure you get the right shifter since some are for 4 speed while others are for 3. Buy a new one and it will come with switches.
I am not trying to argue with the trannyman but my 2.8 in my early S10 had the tranny go out. It was a 200 metric and a 700r4 or a TH350 wouldnt bolt up.
