I always thought the US RX-7 made 250 or so ponies with a single turbo, and JDM RX-7s were twin turbo.

Every third gen is twin turbo japanese or us spec. They started at 255 hp then in around 96-97 they rasied it to 280 in japan.

If not, the japanese spec rx7's were the same as the US in hp, 255, until the later 90's when they moved them to the supposed 280hp. but in japan there was a horsepower ban where 280 was the limit. Its not quite certain what it really was rated at along with all the other cars (skyline, fairlady z.)

it was called the spirit r and it was manufactured from april 2002 to august 2002. only 1500 were made in case you wanted to know.
