Hey guys and gals!

I have a 1991 S-10 Chev Blazer and just so happens that tonight comeing home from visiting my parents i desided to stop for a bit so i go threw the divethru window and get my grub and sat in park and idle for a bit while i eat and after about 5mins i turned my truck off. Ok thats all good till i went to start it and to my surprise it was a ***** to start and when i went to take off it spitterd and sputterd all the way home. I have felt the hesitation this last month or so but never this bad. and it seems to only happen when the motor has been running for i little or when it idles for a bit. I got home and came on here to see what you all have to say about this. I have read some forums and i am making a list of things to check like the EGR valve and the fuel pressure regulator and ofcourse my fuel injectors. When i first noticed this problem before hand i added some fuel injector cleaner to my gas and nope not fixed. So i thought ok since i live in Northern Ontario and it is cold as **** here i thought i would put in some gas line antifreeze but nope nothing fixed. So please if you know or have any hints or ideas please let me know. thanks guys!! :)

Hey Lem,
EGR= The eng. runs rough when you try to stop or idle. When depressing the gas pedal eng runs ok.
depening on the mileage,
I would replace EGR it is cheap to do. When you have the EGR off start the eng. and let it rev high then shut it off. This only takes a sec this blows out the carbon.

I have a 1993 Vortec 4.3 V6 and had the running rich problem...had the erg removed and cleaned twice...and it really stinks when idling...cold here as well...Central MN... mine still idles rough and starts hard after sitting for a while...told on this forum that it is proably a fuel regulator problem...so will look at this next...trying to locate a fuel regulator for mine...while I continue to drive it while runnig rough...it gets very poor gas milage...I guess another sign of fuel pressure problem...Best Wishes...

I changed the the egr valve and still does it. I also thought it might be the feul filter couse of all the cold days here and ice but still does it. I changed the plugs aswell and still doing it. Now i have seen lots of peaple say try running it without the catalytic converter and see if it still does it. Do you think maybe that might be it?? I have also read that it might be the ignition coil. I love my blazer and i hate to see it like this. Please anymore info would be great. thanks
