Re: cup holder for 94 sport

Check out ebay. There is a decent holder made to attach to the front of the console box that doesn't interfere with the hand brake.

My 94 Sport has the cupholder from Jeep that mounts to the passenger side of the console. Just the standard plastic tabs that snap into the little slots they put on that side of the console untit. It works OK but if I had one complaint about the Jeep this would be it. It only holds small drink cups and if comes detached very easily. It's also in the way of a passengers legs...I usually just detach it and keep it in the back seat until I need it.

Re: cup holder for 94 sport

The one I've seen mounts dead-center over the hand brake... partly described, as follows:functional and removable cup holder for your Jeep Cherokee XJ. This beauty attaches with two screws under the lid on your center console. Has room for the emergency brake to work and a cutout for power mirror switch (cutout is covered unless needed and you can remove yourself).
I'm hoping that Cherokee cup-holder issues will be my biggest problem in 2004 and I hope none of you have anything worse!

I was bored and took some pictures of that standard cup holder. I'm gonna try and upload the picture...

another option would be to install a 96 or newer console that has the cup holders built in (it involves a little mod to your e-brake handle that moves it to the left) I have one I am installing in my 87 XJ since I hate that aftermarket one (from ebay) that fits over the e-brake.
