Help installing new Air CLeaner 84 305 CamaroJay84Camaro 01-03-2004, 05:18 PM hey wassup camaro buds, im havin a problem , i just got a 1984 V8 Camaro ( no body kit) just a spoiler with that crappy steering wheel lol, I tried installing my new air cleaner, but i dont know what exactly to do to get passed all those damn hoses that stick out the carborater and worrying about vaccum leaks, with my attempt i got stick idling at 2000 lol i got it back down to about 800 so im stuck, i wanna turn this into a monster , so i know you guys know where im comin from, and i keep hearing a hissing sound comin from the carborater area, if anyone can contact me or respon my email is Jasondelliott@hotmail.com thnx PEACE! 4onFloor 01-03-2004, 11:04 PM there is a spacer ring available if you don't already have it. it sits on top the carb and makes the air cleaner sit higher and keeps it away from the throttle linkage etc. some of em have a fitting for you pcv valve hose to connect to. you'll need a longer stud that holds the air cleaner on. the hissing sound is most likely a vacuum leak, check at the base of the carburator and check the hoses that go to the dist, tranny, etc. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
