Si cluster in a DX?? anyone done this?13secondcivic 12-21-2001, 10:23 PM hey guys..I'm putting a SiR cluster from Japan in my civic....and wondered if I could use the Si cluster in my other DX? I know there is no tach in the DX now...but wondered if I can at least get the other stuff to work. thanks. 90CRXZCSi 12-22-2001, 03:11 AM Correct me if im wrong but I thought the CRX DX came with a RPM tach. I know that the Civic DX in 88-91 didnt but i thought that the CRX did. Anyways, if it didnt then there are some wires that u will have to connect yourself such as wiring the tachometer up through everything such as you would with a 5" Monster Tach. If you need any help with wondering what u need to wire u can send me an email or reply back in here. 13secondcivic 12-22-2001, 08:12 AM ooops....actually, I have a BASEMODEL..no tach, no seats, no tires :) I have someone who has the DX, i'll have to see if he has a tach...but my other car does not. 91zc 12-22-2001, 12:25 PM I put an Si cluster in my dx and it was simple plug and play. You just have to swap in an 88-89 cluster into an 88-89 car and a 90-91 cluster into a 90-91 car.:) 13secondcivic 12-22-2001, 01:32 PM cool....thanks man! crxlvr 12-22-2001, 05:09 PM this isnt very helpful, but my DX had the tach. Killa_CRX 12-23-2001, 11:15 PM The CRX DX has a tach, but I don't believe the Civic DX has a tach... not sure, but I think that's how it goes. BigBank420 12-24-2001, 11:26 AM Ok your talking abotu the SIR cluster correct? Im sorry but this is not a plug and play install. THe SIR cluster is completely different and will require numerous amounts of wiring. I remember reading info on it from another site and the guy said it was more then a headache then anything. Your best bet is just to use the US SI cluster if you want to swap. Hope this helps. 91zc 12-24-2001, 11:27 AM He is going to do the SiR cluster swap but the post is about putting an Si cluster in a DX.:) BigBank420 12-24-2001, 11:36 AM Oops I read it wrong my bad. 91zc 12-24-2001, 11:37 AM Ah, don't worry about it. That was my first reaction when I read it too.:dogpile: 89S(lush)Ei 01-05-2002, 10:40 PM This is probably old news now, but the Civic DX did not have a tach (I have one - '89). I'd like to get a tach in it, though. So it sounds like all I have to do is find an 88 or 89 Civic Si in a boneyard? Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2012
