1999 Vortec 5700 (350) CMP Offset & Keyless Entry Reprogramming

I recently replaced my Intake Manifold Gasket which reuied the removal and replacement of my distributor. I marked everything and I thought I had everything installed correctly but I am getting a check engine light with an OBD II Code of P1345 - Camshaft/Crankshaft sensor position correlation. I did accidently run the vehicle without the Camshaft Position Sensor (CMP) hooked up which caused it to run rough (of course), with it unplugged it was giving an different code pointing to the CMP and that's when I realized I left it unplugged. I plugged the sensor back in and it is running fine now, except for the new Check engine light.

Checking some other forums, I found that I need a Tech 2 or similar OBD II scanning device to find out what my CMP offset is and correct it by rotating the HVS (distributor housing) until it reads 0. Unfortunately, I don't have access to anything other than an Actron Code Scanner. I have tried rotating the HVS in small increments and revving the engine to 1500 RPM to see if it will correct itself but have had no success. I contacted a Chevy dealer who will cut me a deal and do it for $37.50.

Is there anyway to do it myself with out a expensive ODB II linking device?

Also, does anyone have any difinitive procedure for re-syncing (re-programming) my key fobs for keyless entry? Everytime I unhook the negative batttery terminal for any amount of time, the computer loses sync with the rolling codes for them.

In case it isn't obvious by my username. This is for a 1999 Chevy Tahoe LT 4-Door with Cargo Doors.
