Question In Need Of Enlightenment

I just wanna know why some ppl have this big illusion that GT cars will blow away any other model just because it's not a gt?

I know a guy that blows away a '03 Celica GT-S, a '00 Gran Prix GT, a '94 Ford Probe GT all of em pretty much rized out and hes got a 92 Mitsubishi 3000gt SL with some work done to keep it doin 1/4 in high 11's. So far we've been able to buy him a second muffler off the money we made on the streets from all these children wanting to race their "GT" against his "SLOW SL".

Re: In Need Of Enlightenment

well, the SL was the sloest 300gt, which means people think it is slow.
an 11 sec car is an 11 sec car. That's that.
doesn't matter if it's a damn minivan, if it runs 11's, it is quick.
and all the cars you mentioned aren't any better than the 3000 anyway. the probe and grand prix both suck, and celicas are slow.

GT is a designation that stands for "Grand Touring."

Generally it is the model with most or all of the highest upgraded options ... since this often includes a bigger or more power full engine they tend to be the faster version in a given model year.

If you are comparing a modified base model car to a stock GT car, it would not be weird for the base model to be faster.

Comparing "GT" of one car to the base of another is really not anything to go by. The designations only matter when comparing cars of the same make and year for the most part.

Re: In Need Of Enlightenment

The GT is really a little slower due to the extra weight.
