Vette looks like Viper

The new vette looks very similar to the new viper. i cant believe chevy decided to make it look like that. i mean, it looks ok, but please, be different! if you disagree, just check this list.
1. side vents
2. headlights
3. bumper shape
4. lower opening in the bumper
5. hell they even painted the damn thing red
i have nothing against vettes im just shocked by this.

The lights definetly look like they were taken straight off the Viper. Although, I have to say, this car look really awesome!

Re: Vette looks like Viper

i think the corvette looks awesome. even though it has some cues the viper has, you can still tell its a corvette. i think that the side vents are original cuz the corvette jus had smooth ones before and they jus edged them out. but i do agree, the lights and the hood minus the scoop looks like the vipers. but i still give cheverolet credit for making the corvette still look cool and giving it even more power.

in my opinion I think the new Corvette looks kinda ugly because yes it does look like a Viper and I don't like the looks on that new Corvette.

I think it looks hot The headlights make me think Ferrari not viper. For the side vents. They where a corvette style back in the 60's

I think that the sides and the rear end look a little bit better. The front isn't bad I guess, but it doesnt look Corvette. Actually when i saw Chevy's commercial the other night, I thought it was another commercial advertising the silly RX-8 again. No idea why maybe i was just real tired and blurred the front together or something.

I can see what everyones talking about looking sort of like the viper. But it looks better than the new viper. A lot better. I think Chevy took a little bit of a bold step and I like it.

I saw the commercial and thought it was for something different too. You cant really say that Red is the Vipers color. It does look nice, but I think the front lights look more like those on the Modena(its sorta got a ferrari look to it) than the Vipers.

Re: Vette looks like Viper

I think it looks more like a Ferrari. The Vette & ferrari's have always had similar body lines IMO, the head lights top it off.

One thing I don't like & didn't like on the C5's, is the big ass rear window. I think it would look a whole lot better with the Z06 roof/trunk.

Re: Vette looks like Viper

I Personally Like the way the new C6 looks. Just think 5-10 years from now we might be having the same Conversation AGAIN about another Vette. I am sure it was like that For the C3 C4 and mostly the C5.

I wouldn's go so far to say 'very' similar but at this point in
time with aerodynamics being what they are, you can only go
a few directions in certain areas. The other car guys do the
same and you get certain aspects of cars looking...similar.

Now having said all that... I do agree the hood
especially looks like VERY similar to the current SRT's.

The side coves has always been a Vette thing and they
are a carry over from the C5, albeit more rigid and longer
in a vertical sense.

The decision to go 'non-pop-up' was probably the biggest
struggle within. Again, with non-pop ups and the body
design from the hood/bumper and front fenders and to do
HID, I suppose the design gets limited in trying to exert
'function over form'.

Heck, I'll take a Viper comparison, rather than the S2000
comments when the SRT was first introduced.
