lt1 vs ls1

ok i have a hollowed out cat... no govenor, 3.73 gear, computer chip , and 93 octane, and a k&n filter only, its a 93 z28 , automatic transmission......and new tires for grip but dont get much from 0-40

and i see this 98-2000 ls1 stick z28 stock, and we raced from 40-85, and when i raced him my trans was in regular drive not over drive, and it didnt have the pull it usually has for some reason it only does it in over drive, it usually down shifts or something b/c it rev's really fast an takes off, and he beat me buy one car, and since i got my gear, all my gears shift early and my speedometer is off by at least 5 mph ...do you think i could have beatin him if i would have put it in over drive, and got the gears working right shifting at the right time?

one other question, why the hell cant i find any parts for my car, i find some parts but when you look at the power programmer its only 94 an up , my car is a 4th gen why wont it work?

Re: lt1 vs ls1

too many variables, how do you know his car was stock? also, the car downshifts to keep you in the gasmileage zone, not really performance. when you put in your rear gears did you calibrate the speedometer???? check to see if you have a cable driven speedo, or an electric, if its cable, you have to change the gears on the drive unit to make them read correctly, if you have an electric, you have to find a programmer to change the variables in the computer. email or call hypertech they are the people to ask about that problem. but i bet that calibration because the computer is not seeing what it is supposed to see as far as a corrilation between the speedo and the tach, is throwing something off as its trying to compensate for the difference. fix the calibration and everything will probly sort its self out.
