Exclamation 89 corsica

i need help my 89 corsica has went thru about 15 alternaters in the last 4 years. and went thru 5 batteries. now we are on are 5th starter also and now we are having the problem that the voltege meter keeps jumping up and down and then the car dies while it is driving. the battery checks out fine and the alternater checks out fine. i would like to know what i have to do to fix this problem. we dont have the money to take it to get it worked on so i do it all myself. and also we keep hearing a clicking noise coming from the rear defogger switch why is that doing that. i need help if anyone can help me email me at thetoy04@aol.com

Unplug that switch and see if the problem goes away . . . Double check the wiring where is comes through the body and up to the defogger. If unplugging the switch doesn't do it check to see if there is a fuse just for it in the fuse panel. Remove the fuse. If that cures it there was a short in the wiring for defogger.

Shorts can drive even a wooden man crazy . . . I've been known to stand in the corner talking to myself . . . and I usually had a wiring diagram and a test light to run shorts . . .

Remember: If a wire is burnt . . . It will only burn from where the short is to the source of the power . . .
