Angry No oil in engine

Took my 97 cirrus to the dealer for a oil change and three weeks later while I was driving the oil light suddenly went on, the car started shaking and stalled minutes later. Tried to restart the car but it wouldn't. Had the car towed to the dealer and when they looked at it noticed the the oil nut was missing and the the engine had no oil. Dealer says that this was vandlism and that the oil nut is either off or on, and that there is not change that it just wasn't possibly tightend enough. Just wondering what anybody thought, is the dealer just making up stuff so they don't have to claim responsibility for there actions.

Thanks in advance,

KB

my guess is... YES!

they dont want to buy you a new engine because their employees were dumbasses. That's why I always change my OWN oil. Theyre responsible, and if they claim they aren't, bring them to small claims court. You have a good case. And Vandilism? Come on!! WHO WOULD STEAL YOUR OIL PAN NUT? seriously.. There wouldbe 5q of oil all over youde NOTICE THAT!!

Re: No oil in engine

Maybe it was that gang of thugs that have been going around stealing oil pan plugs from moving vehicles!!
As blazer said...unless the vandals stole it while you were moving, chances are you'd notice 5 quarts of oil in your driveway! Smack the dealer over the head and call him a moron...then have them fix it!

Definitly the dealers fault. They WILL lose the case. ANY time your oil light comes on shut off your car IMMEDIATELY!!!

This will save major internal parts...
