Tall guy question....

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

I've been looking at purchasing either an 81/82 or 87 to 89 Corvette but at 6'5" I'm interested in headroom. Since I can't find one locally, other then 95ish and above I have no comparison as I know the 80s model was completely different. I've owned many 80's Z28s and Trans Am which fit well but when I purchased a 1999 Trans Am it was just too small to deal with and I sold it. I miss having a sports car and I've always dealt with the height issue in stride but I want to make sure I'm not scraping my head on the roof.

So if there are any tall owners out there that can give me some feedback it would be greatly appreciated.

I own an 1987 Corvette. I am 6'1 and weigh 250. I fit very comfortably in my vette. I just recently drove a C5 and that was even better. Actually in the C5 i had to move the seat up some. Picture of my Vette. I love my Vette, now that i own one i will never go back. The only reason i would get rid of my vette is to get the new C6.

Re: Tall guy question....

I am 6-5 and weigh 305 pounds and own a 1988 C4 coupe. Head room is very limited for my height and some what limited movement once in side the drivers seat. I have always liked the body style and am willing to sacrafice the limited head and movement room to own one. I do drive the vehicle at least once a week to work, which is a 170 miles round trip with little discomfort. I think if you really like the body style of the C4 you should consider buying one, I have yet to regret purchasing mine and have had it for the last two years.

Thumbs up

I am 6'4". I fit great into my 81!! BUT!! I can't tell you how many times I have banged my the side of my head against the t-tops getting in.

(Shnap. It smarts just thinking about it.)

Recommendation: Have arse well planted in seat before swinging head inside car. Keep bottle of ibuprofen in glove compartment, just in case.

Good luck.
