Hard RPM Oil leakImpreza_boy 04-16-2001, 09:54 PM Hi im new here and my first question is about my 1995 Subaru Impreza L it has the 2.2 and 160,000 I just got this car a few months ago from my mom "Laugh if you have too" but I been running it hard the last few days just haveing some fun with the awd and I noticed when it hits about 5000 it starts throwing oil just enough to smoke and freak me out its comeing from the valve covers "I had changed" is there anything I can do to stop this leak cause I really LOVE the performance and take off of my car...also is there any after market parts for those WONDERFUL #@$%ing brakes lol because they feel so chincy lol well any help would be great thanx;) unite@af 04-19-2001, 02:34 AM First i would make sure the gasket on that valve cover is tight!!!! Get a new gasket and make sure you lubricate it with some oil before you put it on!!! Second. The brakes. Check the calipers or better yet get some brembos. Thats what the hard core SOB's use. Check out nopi.com http://www.nopionline.com/partdetails.asp?ProductID=322383 those are some good pads. Your 2.2 liter engine also has lots of aftermarket products. Have fun. Impreza_boy 04-19-2001, 09:49 PM Thanks for the help! What the leak turned out to be from the Subaru garage is just the norm for the car since its all aluminum and the heat expands and contracts the seal he said also he checked the cover bolts all were tight "I had the garage put the gasket on" guess ill back off on the old girl...but the brakes on the other hand i got ordered right now from a local perfomance shop for 319.00 its the four wheel disk set up with twin pistoned calies :) pretty much what the new impreza comes factory with "they must of known how bad the brakes were on the older models" right now im in search of an oil cooler to take some psi away from that motor I have a feeling at a hard Rpm there is too much pressure building around the seals but dought it will help but at least keep the motor cool...Well thanks for the help unite@af 04-20-2001, 12:53 AM no prob.
