Electrical Problem

Hello everyone,

I recently purchased a flood recovery vehicle (97' 318IS). The car is in perfect shape ( interior, exterior and engine are greaaat ) There is one problem though: It has some elctrical issues. The sunroof, the power windows, the central lock, and the alarm don't work.

I asked the local BMW leadership but they were unable to give me an exact quote ( so you know what that means $$$$$$).

Could anyone give me any suggestions on what could be the problem or how I could get it fixed within a reasonable cost...

Thanks in advance

Re: Electrical Problem

First, what is a "flood-ecovered..." I assume you meant a flood recovery vehicle. If so, depending on how long the electronics have been allowed to sit, you may have to replace ALOT. Your description of "perfect" shape for the engine/transmission is up for debate. Fluid changes if done promptly may have averted "meltdown" of the engine/transmission, only time will tell (I would put the maintenance awareness level to "extreme"--meaning more frequent oil changes (1,000 mile intervals) for the immediate timeframe). I'm assuming also, by the description of your problems, that the car wasn't running when it got "baptized" and no bent valves or rods taking place.
