hey i'm gettin a generic intake off ebay...but puttin a K&N filter on it (according to you guys, this is best) i was wondering if this is illegal in California? will it fail emissions tests and stuff? and will it affect my warranty/maintenance checkups? thanks

you wont pass smog with one of those intakes on because it doesnt have a carb #. Believe it or not there is a visual portion to the test and i didnt pass it once because i didnt have the housing on my air filter. so you'd better keep your old intake components and just put them back on for smog. its not that bad considering smog tests arn't that often.
