'94 Grand AM quad 4

First off I now officially hate pontiac and especially quad 4's

My problem is...........my car had been running fine.....no problems at all until wedsday.

I tried starting the car and it didn't start........so I raised the hood and checked my oil and coolant.........everything looks ok

I tried starting it again and it started right up

Well I started driving it and I noticed some smoke and I was like well it's cold so ......I went on a lil ways and I look down to check my temperture and it was overheating FAST! I mean it was really moving like the speedometer.

So I turned around and took my car back home and parked it. It overheats fast now.......

I took it to a mechanic today and he said it could be a clown head gasket or the water pump

he did say that my thermostat is sticking because my car isnt heating like it should until you step on the gas good and then it heats and this causes the temp to cool itself off some

We turned the car off and he check the coolant and it was cool/cold but not hot......the radiator was cool too.....

I really need my car to work until I finish up a few more semesters of college........but I will NEVER buy a quad 4 again!

ie a month or so ago I got my radiator flushed when it heated up and that cooled it off.....and I know that has nothing to do with it
