328i Window Winding Mechanism change?

My Window Winding Mechanism is faulty.
BMW has advised me to replace the unit, but the service costs are ridiculous.

Anyone know how I can go about making the change myself?

Model : E36 328i 4 door

Exactly what is the problem? Do you have manual or power windows?

I have an automatic Window (Power).

One of the metal arms of the window winder mechanism is cracked and I have to replace the entire window winder mechanism.

Wondering if it worthwhile doing it myself, (if it is easy enough), or paying the ridiculous installation costs from BMW.

Have a locked up passenger side front window. Clicked a time or two just before totally up, last click it bound. Motor tries but it's practically frozen. May be mechanism, not sure. Taking door panel apart, suspense w/ airbag. Anyone know remove replace procure/cause? 1999 328i

One more thing. Taking the door panel off is very easy. The register and all, not there yet. I read from one user that you pull like hell when you get the screws loose. NO. The clips easily snap loose with light prying, there's only 3, if I recall, screws, then clips then speaker wires and door handle cable. Put door lock down though, might snap it off if not paying attention.
