Unhappy 1986 Honda Accord Car Stereo Anti-Theft Code!

Hello,
I just purchased a 1986 Honda Accord LX Sedan , from a private seller and the car stereo that is in the car is a standard Honda stereo with an ' Anti-Theft device in it. I didn't know that they had those way back then.
Anyway , I really need the code to get this stereo on again or else I will have to buy a new stereo until I can fix the car get it registered and go to the dealer and get the code.

CAN ANYONE HELP ME PLEASE .
Thanks , HondaMan69

Re: 1986 Honda Accord Car Stereo Anti-Theft Code!

well the only way u can do it is take it to honda and have them scan it to tell you the code. yet hondas are punks and they will charge you...acura does it for free but i dont think they do honda decks.

yet honda wanted my registration and proff of insurance for the car so they can verify that it wasnt stolen...

if their ass is going to charge you to do it...id say put in a newer decent deck....

Re: 1986 Honda Accord Car Stereo Anti-Theft Code!

actually Honda can give you security code for free, but they need to to know serial number of head unit, and serial number is on back of head unit.
if you let them to find serial number they will charge you for head unit removal and reinstallation
(1 man-hour, minimun charge).
if you pull that head unit out and bring serial number to dealer with your registration card (to verify that head unit wasnt stolen) they wil give security code for FREE.
