Re: Completed Infiniti Q45
do they still make that kit? if so, can i find it on hlj.com ?
my uncle has the real life 1:1 of the car. silver, tinted windows, leather seats, bose audio, etc... it would be a really cool gift if i could make one for him. the aoshima VIP ones arent the same styling as this one.

Thanks for the compliments everyone. 86_SR5, I primed the car with Color Place white primer (that's all I had at the time). I originally painted the car Plastikote teal, but the paint job was just too ghetto, so I sanded any rough edges, and painted over it with the green metal flake. I glossed it with Testors gloss coat. I used three coats, I believe.
Kasso, you can probably luck up and find this kit on Ebay, but I doubt if you can get it on HLJ. I bought this one when I was 12 (18 now) in 1997. I got it at Toys R Us, and I only paid about $4 or $5 for it? Now that I think about it regret getting more, because the had the 300ZXTT model and Mercedes SL500 models as well for the same price. Well, at least I got a 300ZX and two SL500s. Poor quality or not, that was a good deal.

More proof that it isn't the paints you use, but the prep work that you do with them that determines the quality of the paint job.
It looks great, and it's a pretty unique subject, too.

Actually, the paint job looked about as good as this one, it was just the color. Teal looks good on some cars, but not on Q45s. It was so ugly, I just had to start over. By ghetto, I meant like when you see someone with a '94 Cadillac Fleetwood painted taxi cab yellow with 24" spinners.

I used to do that all the time, when I was years younger, like 14 and such, I'd laf at RHD, now I think it's the coolest damn thing here.
Jumpman_Z....I used the grey primer from Color Spray, the can with the waves in it, and the built in cap on the underchassis of my R31 bout half an hour ago, and put the testors blue on and it looks real nice, then I walked away, cause I know if I try to do it all in 1 coat, it'll run.
