Help: ABS and Brake Light ON

I have a problem that hopefully someone can help me with. I just bought a 2001 2500HD and after driving the truck for 5 minutes the ABS and Brake light come on together. Any suggestions on where to start looking for the problem?

First thing is to retrieve the codes from the ABS module...you will need a scan tool to do that.

Did anyone think to read the owners manual? Did you pull the fuses and put them back in? I am in an Extream enviroment in alaska, (cold, and muddy) and mine has that prob once a month in the summer and alot more in the winter, i pull the fuse and put it back and it goes away. I hope yours is that simple. O and i have had the dealership look at it, they said it was all good and didnt know why, idiots they are i say, idiots!

Mine doesnt seem to do it but on wet days,so I`m just going to live with it til I trade it in next year.

I do hate the front ends on the newer Chevys,though....
