Unhappy Transmission on 1993 Z71

I have a 1993 Chevrolet Z71 (manual) Lately after i fun my truck for a while if i try to put it in reverse to parke or just to back up it grinds bad and not sure what the hell is goin on. There doesn't seem to be any thing i can to for it to not grind. Als somethimes my second gear grinds but only at the begging of the day, not when ive been driving for a while. Help please. -WDC-

Hello Walta. First thing you need to do is check the fluid in the tranny and make sure it is full. Something else you may want to consider is draining out the old fluid and replacing it with synthetic. Sometimes the synthetic will help it shift easier. I would check with a technician at your local Chevy dealer and make sure it is ok to use synthetic. If that doesn't help, then it may be time for a rebuild or replacement.

make sure your hydraulic clutch is operating properly. it may be out of adjustment. it may be low on oil or need to be bled.
