suspension lift ?

how much lift is needed for 31-10.50-15 tires on 96 cherokee?

None if you dont mind a rub here & there when doing a u turn. I ran the same size so far as 31's on my 92. Not real sure on how wide mine where it was years ago.

10.5 will rub

It is the 10.5 part that will be a problem. On a Cherokee, even with a 2 inch lift, you will rub most 31 X 10.5's in the corners if you don't set the wheels out a little bit. You could resolve to not turn so tightly, or machanicaly reduce your turn radius. But one of the great things about a Cherokee is it great turn radius, even if you are just in tha mall parking lot.

I have heard about fender trimming to solve this and I would like to try that on my XJ, but I don't really know where to start. Any advice in that direction?
