A $150,000 to spend...Anomaly385 04-14-2001, 05:05 PM Ive always wondered about this. Say, you have approximately 150- grand to spend on any combination of cars that you want, give or take a couple of thousand. What would you get? The possibilities are endless, right? Well, to tame it down a little, say that you also have 3 kids and a wife to drive around. Also, one of the cars has to be for your wife (or husband) to use as a daily-driver. What combination of cars do you pick? ~Ferrari 360 Spider. OooLaLa~ VTEC V6 04-14-2001, 05:15 PM M5 and an M3 convertible and spend the left overs on dinan goodies!! :D BRABUS 04-14-2001, 05:29 PM A minivan for the wife and kids, an MB S600 for me! :D Heep 04-14-2001, 07:56 PM 2001 Nissan Maxima SE 20th Anniversary 5-speed: $28000 2002 Subaru Impreza WRX Sedan 5-speed: $24000 1995 Ferrari 355 Spyder 6-speed: $100000 (??) Total: $152000 Car and Driver did something similar to this a few years ago, they asked their employees what they'd get with $50000 and why. It was pretty good. enzo@af 04-14-2001, 08:15 PM Lotus Esprit V8 and an Audi S4. igor@af 04-14-2001, 08:48 PM Nismo 400R:rolleyes: http://www.webticks.com/igorsush/400r.gif Heep 04-14-2001, 08:52 PM Yeah, I'd like to see 3 kids in the back of that. Porsche 04-14-2001, 10:33 PM One in front, one in back and one in the trunk. That is one nice car though. Personally, if I had 150K to spend, USD i'm assuming I'd get godd everything, no dodge caravan for me. ZSo here it is: BMW X5 (4.4) as the daily driver and kidmobile His and hers Boxster's (The "S" would put me up to 170K) hey, it could be done. Or maybe I could get 5 excursions or 45 Kia Rio's. Heep 04-15-2001, 11:34 AM 45 Kia Rio's.....fun for the whole family and the dog too! Volvo boy 04-15-2001, 12:00 PM I would deffinatly have to turn a S60 or S40 into a street legal (or not) race car. Too many mods to list. :D Anomaly385 04-15-2001, 12:57 PM Just had an interesting thought. I could sell the three kids into slavery or forced child labor for like $5000 each or so, giving me $15,000. I could then sell my wife into marriage with sum other guy who cant get any women, and charge maybe $10,000 or so. This would give me $25,000 extra, plus $150,000, which would be just enough for my Ferrari 360 Spider!!! Hehe, what an evil thought!:D Porsche 04-15-2001, 05:43 PM LO, I heard you can sell babies for $60,000. I think it goes to science or something. flylwsi 04-15-2001, 08:00 PM i think i would get a chevy tahoe and slam it on airbags with 17in euro style wheels... and paint it all yellow... all yellow. nice system, not wild... that is for the fam... that is roughly 60k (depending on what is under the hood) probly a turbo... (THEME?) for me... yellow s4 w/ matching wheels from tahoe... modded out... crazy style... roughly another 50k that leaves me with about 40k to spend on... a subaru wrx sti... in.... yellow, with matching .... wheels.... and some rally bred mods... they would all have the alcantara material on the interior in blue (like the s4) matching seats (cerullo) in all of em, and lots of aluminum inside... and even a yellow helmet for when i take one of these wild ass cars to the track, and yes, the tahoe would be on the strip or the twisties, air handles great when done properly... trust me, i sell the shit :dogpile: flylwsi 04-15-2001, 08:01 PM oh yeah,,, they would all have to be stick, which i would convert the tahoe to with a corvette six speed.... hehehe:eek2: Porsche 04-16-2001, 08:27 AM What's with all of the Yellow? I mean an S4 and an Sti would look great but a Tahoe? flylwsi 04-16-2001, 08:58 AM kind of a signature... the wheels too but a yellow tahoe would have to be flawless... ya know? and how many tahoes have you seen runnin around? i think that i would get a bit of attention there... hehehe and i just think yellow is an amazing color on any car... and i have seen some yellow trucks that are just sick, so i guess it is legitimate... if you go to www.dropndrag.com.... there is a video of a suburban (yellow) draggin rail on the freeway... pretty sick... yellow trucks are definitely noticeable... MrCorvetteZ06 04-24-2001, 10:38 PM '01 Firebird T/A for the Wife and Kids, the rest on a 911 Turbo...not much left over for mods, is there? Porsche 04-25-2001, 04:13 PM I'd like to see a Yellow Excursion. It would look like a pile up of taxis driving around. flylwsi 04-25-2001, 07:22 PM if you go to www.dropndrag.com there is a yellow suburban in the vid section... and there is a yellow expedition in a back issue of truckin magazine... if i find it, ill post it... it is on twennys... how cool is that ... it is by california customs usa... CraigFL 04-25-2001, 08:44 PM The 150K would be just enough for a 1999 F355 GTS and a Yugo for the wife..... Heep 04-25-2001, 08:55 PM LOL :hehehe: VTEC V6 04-26-2001, 09:53 PM Originally posted by flylwsi if you go to www.dropndrag.com there is a yellow suburban in the vid section... and there is a yellow expedition in a back issue of truckin magazine... if i find it, ill post it... it is on twennys... how cool is that ... it is by california customs usa... on twennys? man 20"s aint enough anymore u got to atleast slap on some 22"s to make it look good and break necks :D flylwsi 04-27-2001, 12:01 AM that issue was from before the twenny rage started... that was from when the 18s were biggies... but that vid is still the shit... Cobra_Sam 12-09-2004, 10:30 PM What's with all of the Yellow? I mean an S4 and an Sti would look great but a Tahoe? A bus pass for the family and a Ford GT got me ... BLU CIVIC 12-09-2004, 10:43 PM i'd use the money as a downpayment for a Bugatti Veron 16.4...i'd only own another $1,300,000 :icon16: Engine Type: W16, Quad-Supercharged Displacement cu in (cc): 488 (7993) Power bhp (kW) at RPM: 1001(736) / 6000 Torque lb-ft (Nm) at RPM: 923(1250) / 2200-5500 http://www.rsportscars.com/foto/04/veyron03_02_1024.jpg http://www.rsportscars.com/foto/04/veyron03_08.jpg http://www.rsportscars.com/foto/04/veyron03_engine.jpg S2CorollaR 12-09-2004, 11:26 PM I'd probably import an R34, put 20,000 dollars into it, and use the rest of the money to pay for classes to become the most awesome driver on the street.
