I drive a 95 FOrd Escort, and im thinking bout selling and getting another used car. I was thinking about an 80's celica, but im at a loss when it comes to toyotas. so i was wondering if anyone can fill me in on the 80's celicsas. like RWD? hp? how fast and all of that wonderful stuff. FWD and 88hp is no good.. But i love drivin stick! Anyone got any info for me?

jesst what he said , I used to have a 93 celica gt , it got me into the whole import scene , but thats about it , every magazine I picked up had nothing for my car !! However they do make a tight ass body kit for the 90-93 models . If I were you , I would try to get the gt4 celica or a new one , jesst my 2

just to give my opinion. not to buy. why? answer is...why get an older car? its like downgrading. but if it were a newer celica, why not. toyotas are good cars, i used to have a corolla and never experienced major problems with toyotas.

well mycivic... the new celica is for one, more expensive two fwd, and three puts out less hp than some of the older celicas... the celicas with the 3sgte engine "all track" are awd and have 200hp... if this guys looking for power, the newer celica is not the way to go... notice that the 3sgte engine is used for races still today.. one reason is because it is made of iron and can take more boost from a turbo while the new celica engine is aluminum... just my opinion

It's Alltrac, not "all track"

The 3S-GTE incorporates an Iron Block. Not made of Iron. Although it can be misleading...

I do agree with you (OMG!!!) that the new Celica may not be the answer. I almost bought one in 2000, but decided not to.

Plus, there WILL BE a new designed Celica soon. If buying new, I'd wait and see what happens.
