Need the true or best way to set up timing on a 96 taurus 3.0L ohv. Had to replace whole CMP sensor assy. Now it doesn't start. Chilton manual does not show how to set this up nor does it show the proper timing set up. I need help. Thanks

When I replaced mine, I just tried to drop it in the way it came out. I have no idea if this would work, but since no one else has replied, I got a THEORY for you. I think if you put the #1 cylinder at or near TDC, then take the assy out reposition it so the metal top of the synchonizer will give the sensor a signal - that will get you where u need to be.
