99 Taurus install CD playerxats98 12-07-2003, 03:59 AM I just bought a used 1999 Taurus and it did not come with a CD player installed. What would be the cheapest way to go about getting one and installing it? If I could get the job done myself, where could I look up on how to do it? Thanks! stickygreen99 12-07-2003, 10:18 AM Its really pretty quick and simple took me about 45-50 Mins. But all you need to do is find you a 96-99 taurus dash kit i think i paid $40 bucks for mine and you'll need a wiring kit i think it was like $50. If you want i could take you step by step through the install just e-mail me up. p.s. You might try going on ebay to find the dash kit and wiring kit i not sure if they have any but if they do they'll be alot cheaper than anywhere else. sk8boarder 05-27-2004, 07:20 PM Also think about adding a trunk CD changer that can hold 6 CDs. That's what I did with my 98 Taurus. It was actually cheaper than doing a single disc CD deck, because you have to buy the new faceplate with the climate controls, and a wiring harness. Plus you get to play more CD's with the trunk changer. I paid about 180 for my pioneer 6 disc djchick 08-12-2004, 02:20 AM I'm currently trying to install a cd changer in my "98, took it out of another 98 and hooked everything up the same but i got smoke out of the cd changer. the way it was hooked up was with the wiring harrness but it also had 2 wires spliced into the other harness. Any suggestions???? dmcquistion 08-08-2005, 06:24 AM i was wandering if you could e-mail me info on how to install the cd player in the dash and if there was a pasific place you got the dash kit and wiring harness my e-mail is dmcquistion@yahoo.com thank you Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2012
