Cooling Fan runs on and on and onmikeemon 12-05-2003, 10:22 AM I have a 95 Sable with the 3.8l. The problem is that the engine cooling fan runs constantly. Even like this morning, it was 12deg. out, just turning the key to run, not even starting the engine, the fan comes on high speed. I have changed the coolant temp sensor. The check engine light will come on when I remove the connector and go out when it put it back on. There are no constant codes, just the ones i make to see if it works. Any ideas would be appreciated. coyote03 12-05-2003, 11:57 AM Ford had a couple of recalls on the fan motor and circuit: 01S30 DEC 01 Recall - Cooling Fan Motor Circuit Breaker Installation 97S66 MAR 97 Recall - Engine Cooling Fan Motor Circuit DEC 95 Recall - Engine Cooling Fan Circuit Modification. Contact a Ford Dealer to see if hey still have the info on these bullitins. One may apply to your problem. swingerstraight 12-05-2003, 05:51 PM your thermostat is stuck open. 6 dollar part 20 min job or i hour shop fee your an idiot think about the problem and what you just said Thin_guy 03-01-2004, 09:14 PM :banghead: I have a 1994 Sable w/ the 3.8 l engine, and the same thing's happening; the fan stays on all the time the key is on. The temp sensors seem to be fine. I checked out the TSBs with the dealer, they don't apply. Anyone know what the trouble is? Mikeemon, what did you find out about your car? :banghead: mikeemon 03-02-2004, 07:41 AM Unfortunatly I haven't. It has been so cold up here this winter I just unplugged the fan and figured I'd wait til spring. I did find and replace a bad vacuum line last night, but did not test yet to see if it made a difference. Keeping fingers crossed. I will hopefully get to test it soon.
