Request for advisejimibg 12-03-2003, 01:47 PM I have a Olds Cutlass Supreme 90 and recently it has been acting funny. At idle or lower gears it will strongly vibrate and there will be a noticble smell of burned fumes. Also, there will be smoke coming out of the cat converter. My guess is that it needs to be replaced. Does anyone know If it can be done at home, keeping in mind that I don't have an extensive tool colection, or would it be easier to bring it to a mechanic and how much would it relive my wallet.THanks  shekky 12-03-2003, 05:33 PM buy a "universal cat" and take it to a shop. it only takes 20 minutes jimibg 12-03-2003, 09:21 PM Thank you for the advise. I just talk to a guy who knows a bit more about cars then me and he sad that it seemed to him that it was the oxygen sensor and not the cat so I may try to change it before I go into the cat option Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2012
